The way Scott used Reed's Proximo character after the actor's death?

Reed was great in this film, but after he died maybe production panicked?

Not only are the CGI and stand-in ''Proximo'' actors crap, but none of it makes any sense?

Couldn't he, a former champ Gladiator himself, have tried at least fighting the Romans sent to kill him?

Seeing as how I've seen this movie probably 15 times in 22 years and had no idea about Oliver Reed's death while filming or the computer graphics grafting done for his character in the movie, I'd say they did a pretty stellar job.
