Anybody else wonder how Daisy came to even be there? spoiler

I don't recall if the film specified it or not, but how did Daisy exactly come to be committed to the hospital?

You'd think that her father would want to keep her OUT of a mental hospital, away from doctors. Because she might tell on him about the incest!

Just seemed odd to me.

I think denial is powerful and at the time her family would have had her committed because of the OCD behavior she exhibits and the borderline bulimia behavior. It probably affected everything about her, and I get the feeling she probably cut herself prior to just when Lisa called her out on it... All are reasons to be institutionalized in the 60s.

The book says she was hospitalized seasonally, every Thanksgiving until just before Christmas. What's that about?

Daisy made me chuckle when she was cussing.. There she was looking like a proper 1960s Patty Duke type girl contrasting with her cussing like a sailor at times..
