When she was lying on the floor after she was shot she was clearly breathing so I was happy that she survived, but then Lana and her mom turned away from the body so I was thinking that maybe the actress just couldn't hold her breath for long enough or something.

shareShe did not survive. The breathing is a goof. Brandon is clearly breathing in the morning when Lana is reading the note he wrote. It's like Hillary Swank wasn't even trying to hold her breath. Her entire body is heaving up and down.

shareYeah, it's sloppy editing when the actor/actress whose portraying someone whose just been killed is shown breathing. Why not just have them sit up and put a sign on their chest that says "ACTOR" because at least they're doing what they were paid to do. The director and editor on the other hand lose the tension in the scene when they show the actors/actresses chest visibly moving up and down. A good film that could have been great if the editing was a little tighter.

shareThey probably cut the other murder victim out of the movie because he was didn't have any part in the rest of the story. It's unfortunate that his death has been erased from the portrayal, but sometimes when you're making a movie, you have to change things around. If he'd shown up at the end just to die, everyone would be like "Who is that?"
