I'd love a game based on this show but I don't see it happening.
The last MK games I played were for SNES and Sega. My nephew has Deception for Xbox and I knew people who had the Sub Zero game. I wanted Shaolin Monks and the Sonya/Jax game but never got around to it. I've never been a fan of 1 on 1 fighting games and some MK games got repetitive to me, so it would be fresh.
I like you're idea but let me add to it. They could have missions based on the episodes, maybe alternate consequences too. Multiplayer co-op and the CPU can help if chosen to. Add a few fighters like Kitana, Tomas, Sub Zero, Rayden (he could be locked at first or called upon in some missions since he's so powerful). Include all the villains from the show. A mission to recruit fighters.
Similar to the new Ghostbusters game, it can almost be a follow up to the show. The final task would be to defeat Goro.
Here's another idea for fun, let players play from the bad guys point of view.
Reboot, restart or re-imagining is another word for remake

I was also thinking of the whole alternate consequences thing.Kinda like in the "Star Wars:Episode III:Revenge of the Sith" game.It COULD follow the same format as that game.
I should have known those alien maggots booby trapped this sub.
