shareI have no idea, in the final battle ep you see flashs of the 2nd movie... is this after or before the movie i dont get it please explain?
shareits supposed to be before the first one, cause Liu Kang is descendant of Kung Lao, but this serie messed up a little bit of the story that the movies were following, cause Kitana dies
shareHad season 2 had taken place that probably would have been explained clearer. But I always took it as Shao Kahn brought them back because he needed them.
Kitanna and Shang Tsung were very important to Kahn in the 1st movie. Reptile could have gotten replaced since there were multiple Reptiles.
Storyline wise thats how I look at it.
The last episode of Mk conquest was just meant to be a cliffhanger. The first episode of season 2 most likely would have seen them all get brought back to life because shao kahn broke the elder gods' rules. Its just a shame it was cancelled. But yeah this series does take place before the movies.
Last movie seen at cinemas: 'Pirates of the Carribean 3'
Last dvd bought: 'American Dad!'

The series originally aired on the WB Network and was later picked up by TNT, which aired the remaining new episodes as well as broadcasting the previous ones in syndication. The show was very popular, but according to the show's developer, Joshua Wexler, this resulted in higher budget costs for the show than anticipated. The cancellation wasn't announced at first and rumors of a second season circulated. However, TNT pulled the plug on the show leaving it with a cliffhanger ending. It was said that the last two episodes were a dream Kung Lao had, making what happened not true. The cliffhanger ending would have been resolved in the second season, which would have summed up the series and corresponded with the MK timeline.

that explains why it was a sad ending
They would be resurrected, Reptile too. I have a magazine with a photo of Reptile from the second season and he looks like the alternate costume of MK4 (the ninja outfit but revealing his reptile aspect). He looks very cool.

Doesn't matter. This series is not a part of MK canon.
shareWell chances are they do get resurrected,Kahn needs Shang for the tournament and Kitana for her connections to Edenia. Kitana is over 10,000 years old so that's the only possible outcome. The series did kinda screw up in the final episode but i'm sure they would've made up for it,'cause even Quan Chi got his and he appears in MK4,of course it was off screen so we dont know for sure.
