I'm sorry but...

I don't care if this sounds snobbish, but this show has just gone so down hill with the quality of guests that they have had on over the past several years.
Instead of interviewing Anne Bancroft, Elizabeth Taylor, & Cliff Robertson (just to mention a few) before they passed away, they've opted to go for ultra current guests of the here-and-now like the Cast of Family Guy and Sean Combs...
Never mind that those modern guests aren't nearly as talented, but they certainly aren't in keeping with what I think this program was originally intended to do, which Lipton has said was to capture & time capsule the craft work of great actors...

Interviewing Sean Combs about 15 years after anyone knows who he is is hardly "here and now". Speaking as someone who is 20, very few people my age can name a Puff Daddy (or whatever you want to call him) song. It's not fair to judge it on this basis though. When it started out, they had several decades worth of esteemed actors to talk to. Twenty years on, most of the really big 20th Century names have either had their interview or have died so they need to focus on more recent actors and actresses.

There are a few duds in there but there are still plenty of solid actors too. Neeson, Clooney and Pitt being three examples from just the last two years.

Not everyone says "yes". Jack Nicholson, Leonardo diCaprio have both declined. I am sure there are others
