Which guest surprised you with his/her knowledge of the craft?

don't mention guests like Meryl Streep who you expected to articulate her understanding of acting

The only guests who have demonstrated their knowledge of his/her craft are those who have had EXPERIENCE and TRAINING in acting, and are able to articulate their craft in a way that actors can learn from.

I'm not taking about recent guests these days where it's all about self-promotion....like Mr. Combs.

Dustin Hoffman. His interview is by far the best ever in the series.

Josh Brolin....

As I stated before on another post, it was my favorite IAS interview. However, I think it was because it was so surprising. I always thought that Brolin fell into acting on the account of his father. However, he really studied the craft...especially with Anthony Zerbe...amazing surprise.

Why exactly would he be a surprise? Wouldn't you expect that from him?
