Why so under-rated ??

Ok, I'd like to say it's the best romantic movie of all time, but I have seen a few that I liked better, e.g., 'four weddings and a funeral', 'love, actually', and 'the graduate'. I will say though, that it's way up there with those movies in terms of quality of writing, directing, and acting. Its truly an outstanding movie.

I can also say that it's the best, most thoughtful, and amusing movie i've ever seen with a cast that's all african american, and I'm hoping to see many, many more from where this movie came from, because it was so well written and performed.

Where are more movies like this ?? Tell me about them !!! Bring'em on !!!

Don't read any further if you don't want to be spoiled!

I just finished watching The Best Man. I can't speak for anyone else, but I think the film didn't do as well as it could have because of the ending -- I wanted Harper and Jordan, not Harper and Robin, to get together at the end! It seemed to me that Robin and Murch had much more in common. (In that way it's a lot like one of my favorites, Four Weddings; my husband and I have come to believe that Charles and Carrie are mismatched -- it's Fiona he belongs with!) That said, The Best Man has one of the most gorgeous, engaging casts I've ever seen, and up until it became clear that I wasn't going to get the ending I wanted, I was ready to run out and buy a copy. It's definitely worth seeing, just a little bittersweet. :)
