Whenever japanese shows are bought to america, they have to edit it to fit american standards. Take Super Sentai for example, AKA Power Rangers in america, the plot was very different, and the characters. They made their own show, based on this. They used footage from the series Zyuranger, for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. BUT, the footage they used did not stay COMPLETELY the same. Some fights or punchs, or scenes were edited out, because they were too violent for american television.

It probably had something to do with them sometimes hitting the putties or Golem Hei's in the nut area, but mostly cause it really WAS too violent.

Dragon Ball Z, is another heavily edited show from Japan. In fact, it bares a great diffrence from the japanese version. Aside from the swearing, blood, and extremely violent fights, the episodes shown was much different.

Taking the first episode of the show. In Japan, the whole episode revolves around Gohan, getting lost in the woods, and Goku trying to find him. In the american version, it just starts imediately with them meeting Raditz.

Basically, they cut some stuff from another episode, and fused it with another.

Total Japanse Episodes: 291
Total American Episodes: 276
