Isn’t Brock African Japanese?

Why do people so frequently get told to "read the book" on a movie database?

reply

Yeah, I always thought that Brock was black or atleast part black/

Iris
Lenora-The Nacene Gym Leader
Spencer Battle Frontier

reply

Iris is not black. She looks to be more Middle Eastern.
Lenora is definitely black.
I don't know who Spencer is.

I guess you never heard of Crystal Kay. She's half Black and a famous singer in Japan. And there are Black people in Japan for various reasons whether for jobs, love, maybe stationed there by the navy, etc.

Aren't brock and Iris black?

And in Pokemon Black and White, there are dancers and backpackers that are black. They're still slightly light skinned, but you can tell that they're african american.

Me (new pic, probably won't keep for long):

No, Brock is not black. Various websites confirm that Lenora is the first black character in the Pokemon games, followed by Iris and then Marshal.

Though if we're going by the anime, then Iris comes before Lenora.

I have no idea what Brock is. He's probably, like, Samoan or something. Or he's just dark-skinned because he's out in the sun a lot (he is a fossil hunter).

Why would they be American? Isn't the setting of Pokémon in some pseudo-Japan in a different world where America isn't relevant or existent? It's okay to just use the term "black."

For some reason, here in the USA, people have no problem saying "Asians" or "whites" but then they call black people "African American." So only they're American?

Mr. Popo is black, duh.
