I heard they brought "Who's That Pokemon" back. And they were trying to make it more like the kanto episodes.
I watched some of the Diamond and Pearl episodes just for the sake of nostalgia, and I noticed it was definitely better than the Johto/Hoenn episodes. (The Hoenn episodes were so bad I barely even watched it)
So how is this season?

I was a huge fan of the Kanto season with Johto as a second place favorite. I didn't catch the end of Johto, and watch the first couple of episodes for Hoenn and Sinnoh and really didn't like it So at the start of the Unova region, I thought I'd at least check out the first few episdoes of this region too. And I actually am starting to like it The episodes are similar to the Kanto episodes, which really bring back memories of my childhood. So for the sake of reliving some of the good ol' days I've been watching it for the most part. Which is definitely not something I thought I'd be doing the year I started college I thought I had grown out of it. Of course I realize it's made for kids, so as long as you can deal with the usual "kiddy" jokes and phrases with the show, and grew up with it, you'll probably like it
Course I'm not really a fan of Ashawott (The starter water pokemon). Snivy, my favorite starter was chosen by this season's rival, so we haven't seen him at all since the first episode

Early Kanto was the best, late Kanto was okay.
Orange Islands was good but no one will miss them. Tracey's forgettable.
Early Johto was pretty good, late Johto was sort of dragging on.
Early Hoenn I liked, but the rest, again, dragging on. May and Max were nothing interesting to watch. Probably because they didn't strive for something a lot more interesting than Contests.
Sinnoh was easily the worst of the series. Brock was cool in Kanto but became one of the most annoying characters since his return in Pokemon: Advanced. Dawn was horrendous, I officially hate any future characters who want to become Pokemon coordinators.
Unova isn't all that bad so far. It's a lot better in Japanese though. Iris is very snotty and bitchy, but Cilan is really cool. It's been a while since we've had a likable ally such as him. Howeve, I predict the series will get bad by the end.
Pokemon's normally good in the beginning but boring by their season finale because of the excessive filler episodes.

I watched remember I watched a LOT of the first season of Diamond And Pearl. It was the season with the rap theme.
Once it got to the Galactic Battles season I stopped watching.
I watched the first episode of Best Wishes on youtube. It was good.
