No Mention of Pirates of Silicon Valley in Steve's Bio?

I'm about 150+ pages into Steve Job's biography by Walter Isaacson and not seeing one mention of the movie in the book. Unless I missed something, I would have liked to have learned what Steve really thought about the movie and what parts were true and what parts were really false.

I know he mentioned stuff in interviews, but his book would have been a great opportunity to get his candid perspective.

RIP, Steve.

reply

Probably because it wasn't important to him at all.

If you're at page 150+ the story is still in the 80's. It might get mentioned later in the book.

reply

Nope, I've finish the book and there was no mention of this movie. I was wondering the same thing how come there no mention of this movie? I would of like to read about his reaction to the movie which was surprisingly close to the book.

The only thing I can recall Steve doing with regard to the movie was him asking Noah Wyle to open up a 1999 Apple conference and pretend to be Steve Jobs as he does in the movie. He must have enjoyed/appreciated the film enough if he was willing to do that with Noah.

Steve Jobs is on record as having loathed and despised this movie. He did, however, enjoy Noah Wyle's Steve Jobs impersonation.

Assuming the book in question is an authorized biography, Steve wouldn't have wanted to mention POSV in interviews.

"I don't deduce, I observe."

Did not know that. I am glad he at least enjoyed Noah's depiction as I thought his performance was excellent and was very underrated at the time and still is today.
