What year did you think Nick's Golden Age begin to fall?

I'm putting the same thread on multiple boards from our good ol' 90's shows. But anyway, what year did you think Nick started to begin to lose it's good shows and began putting garbage on? For me, I'd say 2001, after that Nick started to suck.

2000 or thereabouts

Probably around the time Rocket Power came around. When Invader Zim was cancelled, that was 90s Nick taking one last great, sucking breath, and then just stopping.

2003 to be exact. That's when all the last good shows on Nick (Rugrats, Cousin Skeeter, Hey Arnold, Wild Thornberrys, Rocket Power, and Brothers Garcia) had all aired their final episodes and all ended and were replaced by crap like Romeo and My Life as a Teenage Robot.

I think there's a place for shows like Teenage Robot, as long as they don't push out the others. I've enjoyed that, as well as Kappa Mikey, Edgar and Ellen, and Three Delivery. With all the channels and 24/7 broadcasting, they should be able to find room for them. They're even showing some live action shows like Ned's Declassified on Nicktoons. Nicktoons 2, anyone?

reply

I agree, I think they need to make an old school Nick channel, devoted entirely to the older shows, and the shows they don't air often. My Life As A Teenage Robot, Rocket Power, Kappa Mikey (I really liked that show too), Angry Beavers, Ned's, and the whole lot.

2009 when they put icarly and SBSP on nonstop. I love both shows but airing them every weekday for a week is annoying

Definitely the early 2000s. I'm sure a small part of it had to do with me growing out of certain shows, but definitely by 2004 when I was 12/13 I found the channel completely unwatchable.

I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves.

I think Nickelodeon started to go downhill around late 2002/2003 when a lot of the channel's Late-90's shows were ending or starting to get phased out.

But, I don't believe Nick stopped being good completely until after 2009.
