I re-watched it recently and was shocked how amazing cinematography, positioning of actors, light, pacing looked
Like I forgot how GOOD everything about movies was back then. Movie making degraded so much in last 20 years.
I was actually astonished as I was watching. Every frame of this movie was freaking perfect. The close ups on actors faces.... The way they spoke. They way camera was moving closer and then backwards when Bruce was talking to Cole from chair.... Scene with balloons, scene at the poisoned girl funeral.... Basically everything about the way this movie shot was perfect.
And every time I bump at the 90-th movie on tv I’m always shocked at all the bright colors and music in it. Specially when it's family comedies like Beethoven, Home Alone or romantic movies like How to lose a guy in 10 days. They always had that uplifting epic music. Like you want to smile hearing it.
And then suddenly they stopped making those movies and everything is lazy and depressing now. All colors are filterer to be bleak, gray, brown and sad. You cant remember score of the movie you watched like it wasn't existing at all. So forgettable and bad it is.
I really wish that some old timey directors would just go and shoot movie "like it was in 90-th". Or some new young one would try to copy that style.
Music score has degraded so much. They spend such enormous budgets but are too lazy to buy good score and director of photography and lights.
