Did I see The Late Anthony Bourdain starring as an extra in the accident scene talking to a cop?

It probably wasn't him though; just an old man who looked like him.

reply

You see dead people

reply

Yeah, I know.

reply

he didn't become famous until august 2000, the movie was released in august 1999

reply

It still very well could have been him, since he only lived to be 61, and at 40 he would have looked just like he did at 60. After all he was only an extra without lines, sharing a scene with someone else and they just stand there and gesture like they're having a conversation and it could have been an obscure thing he did just before his career took off for Parts Unknown and No Reservations.

reply

"Old man"?

Bourdain would have been in his early forties then, and was quite good-looking.

reply

Well, he did only live to be 61, and did you see the gray hair and wrinkles he has been sporting since his 40's, not to mention his weight loss as well? It could have still been him and besides, it wasn't an Anthony Bourdain special, or an episode of Parts Unknown, or No Reservations; it was a scene as a nonspeaking extra. Besides, one of the first things everyone knows about celebrities whether they're TV show hosts or movie stars is they appear in one movie or TV Show and then they show up in another; they always show up somewhere else.
Don't expect Anthony Bourdain to get any older or show up somewhere else anymore, now is all I'm saying.

reply

Yeah, well, some people like to be on camera, but there were still billions of humans on the planet like then, and the chance of any particular one showing up in a movie are pretty low, particularly when they're known to be working long hours at a restaurant and writing books in their spare time (Bourdain was a working chef and part-time writer at the time).

If you want to find the clip and posted I'll give you a Bourdain fan's opinion, that's my best offer.
