The connection you were meant to make was Cole's mum was also poisoning him as you should have seen in the roast beef scene - ie the milk and the sweating as well as the stealing conversation.

That has to be one of the stupidest theories about this film.

It was not once implied that Coles mother was poisoning him. The sweat was caused by the ghosts he could see. Throughout the film he was very nervous and timid. He was always on edge. That's why he was sweating so much.

Are you insane???? "No mention of ghosts"????? What in the world do you mean by that?

Yes it is, ie HALLUCINATIONS are a big issue with kids given "experimental prescription drugs"

Ghosts don't exist.

I agree... she never poisoned her son.

By "poison" I am saying SHE was the one who had to dish out his zoloft at same time she takes her own as you see in that scene.

Night uses the connection between SHOWING us the BIG bottle of pine junk for the MBP scene [already exposed in Falling Down] and here he shows the big RED bottle of Zoloft [BEING exposed in this movie].

See the DVD extras for red = danger and he shows the bottle

The Red means there is a dead person in the room.
