Critics can kiss my ass

This movie is brilliant ! So great movie ! what the hell is wrong with the critics
I guess they get mad cause they didn't figure out the "Twist" till the ending hahaha !
( I did figure out the twist in the end tho not before .. ) but that didn't mean to underrated it

I get what you are saying BUT FYI: Being a critic is the same as being a guy with an opinion about something. A critic can have positive criticism just as well as negative ;)

It seems to have always been a trend to hate M. Night Shyamalan's work. This and Signs are a couple that I really enjoyed.

reply

A lot of M Night's later stuff was pretty mediocre when you compare it to The Sixth Sense .. probably his best work.

reply

Don't be "that guy" who thinks just because you enjoy something and the majority don't, they're "sheep" and it's a trend.

It's not - most of his later movies try too hard to pull off a silly twist. You can enjoy it but still think it's not a very good movie. Signs is entertaining enough but it's nowhere near the same level as Sixth Sense.

reply

Don't think for a second that because most people hate it, that it is bad. Most people are dipshizzits. ;)

But like Kubrick the "entertainment" is purely for bums on seats and all his movies have a deeper message/warning about america is going down the gurgler.

Night will be maybe 60 or dead by the time "The Herd" catch on to these messages.

Yeah, like was mentioned earlier - The 6th Sense got pretty solid positive reviews from the film critics when it came out. That probably helped its box office - and I also think it got good word of mouth from movie goers. I think it's the most highly praised of all of his work. This and Unbreakable seem to be the favourites with the critics.

After that, the critics did seem less keen on him. I think there's good stuff in Signs and The Village - but after that, hmmmm.

You didn't see it coming because they lied about important information to make sure it would be a shocker... and a totally empty one because if the movie was taking place in another time and the elders were just keeping the kids in the community to prevent them from getting hurt... it would have been the exact same movie.

The Sixth Sense got great reviews when it came out.

Was about to say that. Wasn't The Sixth Sense really acclaimed when it came out? I believe it was one of 1999's most acclaimed movies, even by critics. It even got Oscar nominated, and that speaks something.
Maybe it's not as acclaimed now and people tend to compare it with his other movies, but at the time of release it was well received.

The Sixth Sense was widely praised by critics when it came out. Its still held in a very high regard. Was even nominated for 6 Oscars, including Best Picture. This was and still is an extremely well-received movie.
