So was it implied that Vincent suffered from the same condition as Cole?

I remember growing up, someone else mentioned this to me and I thought it made sense. Watching the intro again for the first time in years, I realize this is not explicitly stated or necessarily the case. What's your take?

I think it was implied and verified, after Cole tells Malcolm his secret, challenges him as to whether or not Malcolm believes him, Malcolm goes back to the audio tapes to the time young Vincent was alone in the office when the tape was still running, and Malcolm turns up the volume to hear a voice in Spanish saying "I don't want to die."

Malcolm then went looking for Cole, found him in the church, and Cole said, "something's happened ... do you believe me now?" They then had an honest conversation about what these ghosts wanted.

Yes they both suffered the same NON condition of ADD and both were put onto the normal Zoloft experiment [the modern day American version of MK Ultra]

Night is so keen to say this TO you [and just possibly have you concerned??] that we see Cole has exactly the same report [Night even underlies the lies like "mood swings"] even though he has yet to meet Cole.

LOL, yes! Please!

He won't, he's been doing this for quite some years now.

Lester knows his stuff. I don't always agree but he has a great eye for subtext, something Night has never denied. People ignore his antics because of how he words his comments but I think his addition to the boards of Nights catalog is extremely valuable

Yes, it's heavily implied. You can even hear a Spanish-speaking ghost during one of Malcolm's sessions with Vincent. He also displays the exact same symptoms as Cole, suddenly feeling cold and such.

Ah yes, I wrote this post before I got to that part again. I'm glad. I think that makes the intro with Vincent all the more creepy.

Its more than implied, its pretty much spelled out in the movie.

Yes, it is. There are the tapes and the numerous comparisons between Vincent and Cole.

Plus it is part of the logic of the film. There was something haunting and bothering Dr. Malcolm that wouldn't let his ghost rest. It was his failure of Vincent (which led to his death) and to a lesser degree his worry that he had neglected his wife in pursuit of his career.

Only after he addressed both problems was his ghost able to rest and pass on.
