I could not disagree MORE!
I avoided TLOTR Trilogy for more than 15 years...I simply had no interest in the movies...
But in 2015, I finally watched them.....It was the single greatest movie experience of my life.
and The thing that BLEW me away was the special effects, I was stunned That they held up that Great 15 years later...
I'm a big action movie and special effects fan, for me TLOTR trilogies special effect are stunning and Hold up perhaps better than any movie ever.
while I respect your opinion, I must admit I think you are in a very small minority here....based on everything Ive read....The Universal consensus seemed to be The Special effects Hold up Great
Watch the appendices and extended cuts. If you’re into motion picture making and LOTR they’re well worth it. The lengths they went through to make this trilogy is astonishing. Few movies if any were at this level.

I literally just watched a video of some special effects guys talking about the effects in these films and they were all still quite impressed and freaking out over most of them, with a couple exceptions (the white misty type scenes with people sorta "floating" through them they were laughing a bit).
