rewatching for its 15th anniversary

And I have a question. I've read the books probably four times or so, and have seen the movies more than that, so I'm a big fan, but not an extreme expert.

Anyway, Ringbearers get to go to the Undying Lands. Theoretically, would Sauron be allowed to? Maybe he can't because he lacks physical form. Maybe they have a block against him, who knows. If he broke in, sequel idea ;)

Does anyone out here know or have an idea?

Debate's awesome, but if you're stating something as fact, let us know your source, like if it came from one of Tolkien's other works. I've only read The Hobbit and LOTR. I tried The Silmarillion once but just couldn't get into it.

Maybe it's something not really known anywhere, so speculate if you wish.

Sauron created the one ring and poured part of his life essence/spirit into it. Once it was destroyed he ultimately destroyed his ability to not only take form but to maintain his spirit. He's not fully dead but rather dissipated into a lifeless spirit much in the same way Saruman ended up. Whether or not both of them ended up in the Halls of Mandos is another question.

Sauron was a Ring-maker. He was never a Ring-bearer.

I never said he was

I thought it was clear that I was replying to the Original Post. Y’know, when you click “Reply” on the OP, the site deposits your reply at the end of the chain. People on this site need to be a little bit slower to get all defensive.
