Rita

Almost every time I watch this film I see something new or find myself having new ideas about certain scenes.

Last night I watched this film (yet again) and noticed that when Betty opens her luggage to unpack her clothes there are two items noticeably on top. Notable because of the colors: blue and purple.

The scene immediately cuts to Rita looking at a poster of Rita Hayworth staring in Gilda. The two colors that Hayworth is wearing: blue and purple.

Now I did check the same Gilda poster apart from the film, it appears that the blue in MD is decidedly green outside of the film. But in the film it looks blue, at least to my eyes.

So going with the idea that the blue/purple of Betty's clothes match the color of Rita it would only make sense. Since there never WAS a person like . . . .
