I was glad they didn't end it with someone dying, like almost every movie about an old person does. The World's Fastest Indian was another pleasant surprise.

I agree. After that long journey we just needed to see that he was able to meet his brother. The starfield at the end says everything. It doesn't matter what they fought about; what matters is they were able to finally reconcile and watch the stars again.
