Spirit 2
Are they making a spirit # 2 ? My little cousins are obsessed with spirit and every other movie goes on except this one.. It's already been 10 years..people are waiting for the next one to come out. Is there at least one more?

shareThe film only made $120 million on an $80 million budget, so don't get your hopes up.
Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.
At one point, the title SPIRIT 2 was tentatively announced by Dreamworks, but obviously nothing more happened. That announcement occurred about a year after SPIRIT was released. We're still waiting. At least we have SPIRIT on widescreen DVD. I'd like a Blu-ray of it, however.
shareI'd love to see a Spirit sequel. It has to be more challenging though, while they didn't stick with the true nature of horses in the first movie, this sequel should break more boundaries about how Spirit evolves to change that herds and horses go off to make their own herds, or having to fight over who controls his own herd and to take Rain from him.
You can make a great story from these things, especially with nature, it shouldn't be afraid to be dark to give more depth to Spirit.
Otherwise, it might as well be left alone, though sad we are not getting enough 2D hand-drawn animated movies.
"You know what's funny? People. People are funny."
Or, y'know, ANY 2D hand-drawn animated movies at all. (Check it, out, there's only been one such film released in theaters by an American studio in the past 3 years.)

Indeed. There frankly SHOULD be more 2d films, or as MetFanMac put it, "There frankly should be 2d films at all." All we got in the past 3 years is the one film he mentioned, which I assume would be the age-ghettoed "Winnie the Sh!t" :P... We need more than just that!!! Even if it's just sequels to older traditionally-animated films!!! Hell, they churn hundreds of CGI ones all the time (sequels AND original films, though, pathetically enough, MOSTLY CGI SEQUELS)!!!
Some I might like to see:
* Another "Rescuers" film, more true to the original, than its 1990 sequel. Fück Eva Gabor's death!!! That's no excuse to keep such beloved characters alive... Hell, if they're REALLY determined not to "replace" her, then forget a SEQUEL; reboot the series entirely, but still stay true to the original film from '77...
* Another "All Dogs Go to Heaven" film; remake or sequel, but if it's a remake of the original film, DON'T have Anne-Marie get sick and cough FÜCKING HELLISHLY NON. STOP.!!! On the other hand, they could make it more like the superior in many ways "All Dogs Go to Heaven 2", and have a different little girl (or boy) character...
* An original animated film about elephants in Africa or India. This I don't mind so much whether it's classic or CG, as, frankly there have been almost as few elephant films as there have been 2D films...
* A "Mickey Mouse" feature of some sort...
* Yes, a "Spirit 2", would be good (even if the horses didn't talk in the original, disappointingly...)
* Possibly even a "Lady and the Tramp" remake or sequel. I was even wondering what it would be like if they did it in (or at least MOSTLY in) live-action. Just dig the "101 Dalmatians" remake; not quite the original animated masterpiece, but still quite faithful and good.
* Finally, we may even be able to remake CGI films in classic animation; "Madagascar", "Ice Age", "Rio", "Kung Fu Panda", etc. (well, "Rio" is debatable...) could ALL really use upgrades to classic animation (though, pathetically, it may sound like downgrading by the industry...)
Any other suggestions?
I don't get how Spirit made that little of money at the box office. I think it's just as good as such animated classics like The Lion King.
shareWhen the movie came out in theaters I wanted to go see it. I was younger about 8yrs old and was in America for two years. It has been 8 years since it came out and I still watch Spirit. I have never ever gotten tired of this movie. I was hoping that there would be a Spirit 2 Soon.
One idea that I thought of was if Rain had a colt... The General got revenge and took the colt from Spirit. So Spirit has a long journey to find his colt. With difficulties on the way. Spirit gets help The Indian boy. Meet new people and different friends.
I would love to see a squeal to this movie.
