It says that Romeo Must Die is followed by "Cradle and Exit wounds", but isn`t that impossible ? The only thing the stories have in common is that Jet Li is in two of them (playing dfferent different characters) and DMX is in all three, also playing different characters. I haven`t seen Cradle yet, so am I missing something ?
Joel Silver referred to them as a (very) loose trilogy right before the release of "Cradle 2 the Grave." This has some credence to it being that it's pretty much the same director, same actors and same overall style.
Those movies ARE follow ups, as in, the director made 'Exit Wounds' and 'Cradle 2 the Grave' after this movie. Those movies "followed up" this movie. They have similar themes, actors, etc... it has nothing to do with a "sequel", wor whatever.
Maybe not Exit Wounds, but Cradle 2 the grave...yes. I was thinking this the other week how Cradle 2 the grave could be Romeo Must die 2, I think that part was made for Aaliyah rather than gabrielle Union. I think Aaliyah would have played that better if she hadn't passed away.
I don't think Gabrielle played the part badly, but I am not sure if I would've been able to see Aaliyah do that striptease scene, but then again, I could've been wrong. Anyway, there is a connection to all three films, maybe not storyline wise, but here's how I look at it: -DMX was in all 3, but he had top billing in Exit Wounds and Cradle 2 The Grave. His role wasn't as big in Romeo Must Die. -Anthony Anderson was in all 3 films. -Tom Arnold was only in EW and C2TG.
The only line drawing with EW against C2TG and RMD is the fact that Steven Seagal was in that, but not the other two.
On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.
Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and I believe Paul are all part of the "Blood and Icecream" trilogy or something like that. They have nothing in common and take place in separate universes, but they're connected by the same actors and writers, etc. I guess it's some kind of meta trilogy or something like that because they too take place in different worlds.
