Did anyone notice a guy watching New Jack City while playing...?

Video games in that one scene? I would add this to connections if I could, but I don't know how. Here's how the scene went: The bodyguards were all in the living room playing that football video game. One guy had a headset on and a portable TV and it showed a scene from New Jack City. It was the scene when Scotty and Nino were in the pool with those two Asian women (From New Jack City, I mean), just letting you know. It's blink and miss but if you play close attention, it's there.

The thing I wonder is if that thing that guy was watching it from was a portable TV. During the time the movie was made, which was in 1999, iPods didn't exist and even if MP3 players did exist (They might have), they didn't have video features. Also, DVDs were becoming more and more common then, and I don't think portable DVD players were around then either. I can only guess that was nothing more than a portable TV.
