Get Carter!

I've seen this film about 5 times now and still haven't tired of watching it but is it just me or does anyone else see a similarity between this and the '60's film "Get Carter"?
In Get Carter, Michael Caine plays a tough nut from the smoke (thats London for all the American members)! who travels to Manchester to "sort out" the people who killed his brother. In The Limey, Stamp plays a tough nut from the smoke (See above)! who travels to the States etc. etc..
Both are great films although I think The limey lacks that certain '60's "cool" that suffused Get Carter.That aside, it's a blindin' film geezer if you get the chance, 'ave a butchers me ol' china!

Manchester??? no!!! in get carter he travels to Newcastle and the film came out in 1971 not the sixties, i wasn't trying to have a go at you but you can't have paid much attention to the film if you thought he went to manchester. i have not seen the limey properly but i can see what you are saying and the similarity is definately there

yeah ok, it's my age. Manchester, Newcastle, well, they're all up north! and yes, i know it wasn't made in the 60's but i just thought it had a 60's feel about it. any way, it's still a great film.
