I think The Limey is his finest hour. Every time I see it, it gets better. I also think the creators of Drive (another great movie) owe Soderbergh and Dobbs a couple of rounds, if you know what I mean.
Traffic, which I loved in 2000, isn't quite as compelling as it used to be; it's the anti-Limey. I'm very fond of Bubble, and I don't begrudge it the number 1 spot, but I can take or leave Erin B. or Ocean's 11.
The Limey is indeed Soderbergh's best film. He is a very talented filmmaker, with numerous gems to his credit. Yet The Limey is so rich, so much more than a fantastic revenge tale. The editing, the music, the sound and of course the acting. Terence Stamp is excellent, as are Fonda, Guzman, Newman and Warren.
There is so much that works to perfection in this film. Even the little things are superb. When Lesley Ann Warren walks into her apartment there is a framed poster on the wall for The Clouds Cannot Sleep. At a glance we see that no matter how good an actress, teacher or friend she is, her career high point was a schlocky bit of rubbish. These little revelations never stop coming.
The Limey is not to be missed. It will reveal more and more, far beyond the realm of the very satisfying revenge story.
If this is his finest film, then he must be the worst director of all time because I have never seen a movie as bad as The Limey. I don't think this utter crap even qualified as a movie. Music videos are of better quality than this.

Hostility? Do you even know the meaning of that word? I just stated my opinion that's all. Btw thanks for putting me on your ignore list. Do you think I really care? Gotta love oversensitive folks on the internet lol. I dished your favorite film and that made you so butthurt? Wow. I have been insulted and offended more times on IMDB than I care to count and yet my ignore list is empty.

Probably, as Terence Stamp definitely cuts a chillingly compelling figure and the dialogue´s both witty and kinda hard-boiled throughout. It´s certainly his best directed movie though - and I´m yet to see anything close to a poorly directed film from him. Even Kafka in its general misguidedness was easy on the eye. This one, however, is a marvel to behold. A beautiful number, put together with such a sensitive hand; a very impressionistic picture.
