Disappointed by the ending (spoilers, just in case it's not obvious)

I get the mirroring/repeat in Jenny's relationship with Valentine to that of hers with Wilson, but the idea that Wilson, on learning of this 'echo', felt somehow partially responsible for her death is a massive stretch. I feel he ought to have finished the damned job after all that carnage. Besides, by not doing so he risked a very long stretch back in the slammer!

Really liked the approach to editing/structure but the story as seen in the finished product felt too slight and improbable to me.

Not a film I envision revisiting but entertaining enough I suppose.

Its not that he felt responsable, its that he understood his "enemy" and that It was an accident, so he let him live...

There we were, minding our own business, when kids started killing themselves all over my property.

Hmmmm... I can't understand that kind of understanding, especially in a man like that towards the man responsible for his daughter's death. Maybe he was a closet Buddhist? Impressive transformation. Must have been a Tantric path fast lane.

Then again, if he really did accept that it was an accident, rather than a panicked violent attack that went too far, conveniently for him, which he took no responsibility for, because it wouldn't bring her back anyway and life goes on.

No, my logic didn't work; I still feel the same way.

Not having a dig at the film in general, think it's impressive in many ways. Just felt a bit let down by the ending - can't like them all, that would be boring.

I agree. I liked the ending.

I'm actually not 100% sure, is it really that? I kinda spaced out in the middle of the film, but I thought I had a full grasp on it.

I think you described what happened well.

Wilson knew his daughter and understood how her death was an accident. A violent death but an accident.

So he walked away from Terry Valentine and went home. At least he found out what really happened. Terry was ruined anyway as law enforcement was on to him and Wilson took out his guys.

The ending worked for me. I liked this movie.

Cool then I got it right. :) Yeah I agree it was a great ending. Realistic, smart...
