Adhara....( Valentine's girlfriend )

One of the things I really considered good about this film is the portrayal of Peter Fonda's girlfriend Adhara. You know, for once the rich guy's girlfriend isn't just a brainless and dumb bimbo with big boobies, but a rather sophisticated and loyal beauty with her own personality!

Don't you agree?

No tears, please...Those are a waste of good suffering.

Yeah she is that, I also got the impression she's someone who loves the 60's, and hates that she wasnt a part of it. Therefore she lives through Valentine :S

What else has she been in? She looked very familiar.

"Do these come in funny shapes?"

"No. ...Unless round is funny."

i was shocked it wasnt her, b/c i was so sure.

I dunno about that - the way she laughs after Valentine describes the 60's to her when she is in the bath indicates to me that she is playing him to a certain degree - to me its a "what a crazy, pretentious guy he is" kind of laugh. I think she is ambivalent to Valentine and his history.

I would agree that she is smart though.

she has one of the best lines in the movie (to valentine)- 'you're not specific enough to be a person. you're more like a vibe.'

Golf clap? Golf clap.

You can tell that because Valentine is going out with her, when he should be doing something else with her. I certainly know I'll be watching this on Mar 17th when it's Amelie's birthday.

I agree. Amelia Heinle did a fine job as Valentine's loyal and concerned girlfriend Adhara.

she's presently on the soap "young and the restless" playing victoria newman. she's been there 5 years, and before that was on "all my children" for 4 years.

Actually, Amelia Heinle as Adhara creeped me out. She looked like a 12-year-old wearing at least an inch of makeup. And she wore her heavy makeup even when she was swimming.

In "The Limey," I thought she was highlighting Valentine's essentially corrupt personality by him being with this immature-looking child, flattering her and telling her she was "so beautiful." And she was attractive, as long as she had her makeup on, and as long as you only looked at her face.

It startled me when I saw in IMDB that she is a successful actress (in daytime soaps, anyway).

I also looked her up in The Celebrity Movie Archives, and while she has had a couple of nude scenes in films, she is as flat-chested and immature-looking 10 years later at 35 as she was in "The Limey."

I agree with what Coventry said about her not being the typical dumb girlfriend. If you notice, she's always paying attention. She always has her eyes and ears open and she's always asking Valentine pointed questions about what's going on and why. She may have been on the way to finding out about Valentine's illicit activities and becoming murdered girlfriend no. 2.

Stacy - "We got a job"
Uncle John - "What kind?"
Stacy - "The Forever Kind..."

reply

I agree that she is no fool. She is a bit shallow and drawn to making the scene with a Sugar Daddy, yet she is not stupid. She knows deep down that there is a creepy element to her hook-up with Valentine, which is why she repeatedly tries to get clean in the pool and bath. Some stains don't come clean so easily.

All very Lady MacBeth.

Stacy - "Yeah"
Uncle John - "What kind?"

reply

She is also asks about the bodyguard who keeps crying, I'll at ease.

reply

Yes. But she was so young - too young and yet very knowing. Must have had a heck of a back story.

reply

This should have been a breakthrough role. Why didn't she become a household name?

reply

This movie wasn't promoted and had a very limited theatrical release.

reply

This was a joke, right?

reply

She was damn sure hot
