I wonder if anyone else has noticed...

the striking similarity between the concept and the screenplay of the Ghost Dog and the turkish movie Eskiya (The Bandit)(1996)of which you have probably never heard of, but you can read the plot sumarry on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116231/plotsummary and you can read the reviews, too.

Don't get me wrong, I also cherish the Ghost Dog movie and consider it amongst the top 100 movies one has to watch before to die, but stll credit is where credits is due, and in this case I think it is Yavuz Turgul's movie who influenced Jim Jarmush most.

"of which you have probably never heard of"

How patronising do you want to be? You are on a forum for film nerds, why would they never have heard of it? And why, if you drew the comparison, whould they not take the iniciative and look it up themselves? You didn't need to tell them they could read a plot summary of your precious film that obviously only you have seen.

PS sort your grammar out before you talk down to people.

With your answer you only prove I'm right - you have not watched the movie I rely on, but you're already bashing me and my opinion...

I was not bashing your opinion, I was bashing the condescending way you put your opinion across.

And how have I proved you right? Like I have already stated, I did NOT comment on your opinion.

I don't think they're that similar in plot other than their subtexts which are both about crime, hitmen, and mafia.

But thanks for suggesting the bandit. I had never heard of it.

These are some movies of mine. Enjoy!
