I wish so much that Jim Jarmusch would make a sequel, although obviously not a literal sequel but maybe a prequel that shows how ghost dog did his training and learned to kill like a samurai, god i love this movie so much, I need more Ghost Dog!
No. As much as I love this movie I gotta remind you that sequels tend to be worse than the originals. of course there are few exceptions, especially with comedies but I wouldn't want to take that risk
Empire Strikes Back was good, I agree with you, it was in the exception category I mentioned. Prequel could work, though it would be a risk, who could play the young Forest Whitaker nearly a decade after the film? Believe me I too would love more of the same hypnotic story, but the odds still are that sequels tend to suck more often than suceed. And Prequels also, Look at how Lucas raped his own production! Even the great actors like Ewan Mcgregor, Sam Jackson and Natalie Portman(well maybe not great, but she too was good) couldn't save the prequels.
I'm not up for a sequel since he died at the end. But that doesn't prevent a prequel type of production. I'd like a comic series or graphic novel set in an era prior to the movie. Maybe even an animated series.
So if we had a sequel and Pearline was Ghost Dog's successor, would she seek revenge for the death of GD (even though the killer was his "Master")? Or how would a sequel work?
I would've loved a Ghost Dog 2, but it's been 12 years now it would've been better in 2001. I always thought Pearline would get revenge for Ghost Dog because she began narrating at the end.
