My thoughts as if you care.
The movie was bleh. I'm familiar with samurai and their code. Ghost Dog was interesting, but the plot was boring. The mafia was laughable. I didn't understand if the director and writer was romanticizing the samurai or if the intention was to portray Ghost Dog as a weirdo with a Japanese fetish.
The gun flipping as he holsters was stupid and makes me think he is idolizing a distorted view of the samurai.
I understand why he used guns only. 1) He's not that stupid. 2) Probably believed the code is what makes a samurai and not his weapon.
Movie had too much symbolism for my tastes. I don't get the connection between following the code of the samurai, being a hit man for the mafia, and being black in a world with racist that like to kill black bears because they're not much left.
