Hero hard to root for.
I loved the ideal, but it's a little difficult to root for the guy when he works for the mafia as a hired killer

Some people are just that way though, can't find anything relate-able or likable about protagonists with anything less than "The Pope" on their CV. I can't fault them for their opinions, but I really feel like they're missing out on several key parts of many main characters.. Ghost Dog's loyalty and devotion, for example.
Good point.
I usually can't abide characters who kill for a living, but there was dimension given to Ghost Dog that made him likeable, ie his code of ethics and love of animals.
