'Y'all can't do me like this, you ungrateful SOBs!!!'

That tense scene with Leon's David Ruffin was an important & crucial turning point in both the movie as well as the band's career. After David's tirade in front of the remaining group members @ Motown headquarters, notice the brief sneer on Ruffin's face before he turns his head & walks away in disgust. Priceless! It's as if Ruffin was saying to his now ex-band mates: "You ain't gettin' rid of me that easily, 'cause I'm comin' back!". It's hilarious when Ruffin screams beforehand: "You can't fire me! I made yo' asses!". I must admit that although this movie was dramatic for the most part, certain scenes (like the scene above) were hilarious! The scene where Ruffin & Flynn were snorting cocaine in the back of Ruffin's car was also a laugh riot!

Flynn: "It stands to reason: Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Junior Walker & The All-Stars!"
David Ruffin: "Hey, David Ruffin & The...(snaps fingers). What's their name?".
Flynn & David: Ah ha ha ha ha!!!".
