According to IMDb, "The Temptations" was filmed in Pittsburgh, PA. I thought all or most of the movie was filmed in Detroit, because a familiar location is at "Hitsville, U.S.A." - Motown's first headquarters. "H-ville..." is now a museum & a popular tourist destination. Why Pittsburgh?

Because Detroit hasn't looked like Motown-era Detroit since the riots in 1967. Pennsylvania may also have offered better tax breaks.
