According to the movie, Otis's's son Lamont died in a construction accident. Did Lamont really die in this manner, or are the writers & producers taking liberties with the storyline? Anyway, this is very sad if it's true. If Lamont's death actually happened that way, how old was he when he died? He seemed like such a good kid.

Lamont did die as told in the film, but it was in 1983 after the reunion tour was over, not while it was going on. He was 21 years old.
