Ball of Confusion recording on All the Million Sellers

There is a glitch on my tape (not CD but tape; I bought it in 1993 or so) on Ball of Confusion I think. I've only heard this on that recording and never on any CD or video I've heard/watched. There is the part that goes "Round and around and around we go; where the world's headed, nobody knows." That is what I hear on every recording except that tape. What I hear on the tape is "Round and around and around we go; where the world's headed headed nobody knows." For anyone else who might have have that cassette, does it repeat like that for you?

Oh, on the same tape on "Cloud Nine" he starts a few beats early on "I want to say I love the life I live..." It sounds like "I, I want to say I love..."

I recently got a triple disk and "headed headed" is on there too.

The one with the singular "headed" is the mono single mix.

The double "headed" is the stereo album mix, which for whatever whim of Norman Whitfield's fancy, uses double-tracked vocals on this section of the song where the mono version does not.

It was standard at the time when there were mono and stereo versions of music releases. Between them, vocal performances, possible additional instrumentation, and the song's length are common (Motown is pretty much known for this). I prefer most of the mono masters myself...

If it's from the movie remember that both "The Temptations" were singing this towards the ending -- Ruffin was singing it with Kendricks and The Temptations were signing their version -- maybe they interlapped.
