Did The Tempts Have A Height Requirement?

I am so glad I found this board. I can't remember the last time I discussed The Temptations. I would like to congratulate everyone on this board for having excellent musical taste.

I SWEAR I read many years ago that The Temptations had a height requirement. All members had to be at least six feet tall. It ticked me off a little because I am only 5'8". Did anyone else hear about a height requirement? Otis Williams and/or Melvin Franklin said a short guy would throw off the choreography of the group. Falsetto Ron Tyson looks like he might be a little under six feet tall. And with all due respect, Bruce Williamson must weigh at least 250 pounds. I had never seen a heavy set Tempt before he joined the group. But I guess if he can sing and keep up with the dancing then he is the right man for the job. Please click on
