Who came up with The Temptations name?

In the movie, it is noted Paul Williams came up with the name of the group. Also, did the group also formulate the names "The Radicals", "The Spectacles", "The Undertakers", "The Hearses" & "The Stiffs" @ random? Was there also mention of "The Testacles", like in the movie - LOL(!)?

Actually, "The Gonads" would have been a MUCH better choice of name than "The Testacles" - LOL!!!

A Motown Records employee, Bill Mitchell, came outside while the group was trying to come up with a name (it's safe to say every name offered in the film was made up for the film) and casually suggested the moniker they'd rise to fame with.

In reality, Otis was the one who spit out the name "Temptations" when they were brainstorming. In the film, Paul is not portrayed as coming up with the name- he merely provides the inspiration and sets the stage for a great idea of a name.

Maybe they picked "The Undertakers", "The Hearses" & "The Stiffs" because Motown was next door to a funeral home.
