Oh but you have no problem at all with every other graphic death. Yeah.
That's exactly what I thought too! Seriously, it is folks like the OP that really crack me up. Firstly, I'm sure he realizes that everything in this movie is fictional so nobody really dies, not even the mangy flea-ridden dog! Secondly, some people are completely ok with hundreds of humans being killed on-screen but God forbid one lousy animal should die. I'm sure the OP is still upset that Bambi's mother died too! LOL
This reminds me of a similar incident that happened with the movie "Cliffhanger". The test audience were so unhappy with one scene which showed a rabbit being killed that Stallone had to dish $100,000 of his own money to have the scene changed. However, the audience had no problem with the deaths of a number of innocent people in the movie including Hal's girlfriend, a sweet old man, two innocent teenage parachuters, the henchman's loyal girl etc etc. We really live in a strange and crazy world!
Mr McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry! reply share
This is a bit late but I think it's because people consider animals, much like children, innocent creatures, undeserving of such violence or cruelty. It's a psychological thing. In your subconscious mind your thinking "this isn't right at all." And you don't want to see it or know that it happened, or is happening. Just my thoughts on this, anyway.
