What were the reactions to the Spinosaurus taking over the JP logo for JP3? How did everyone feel about a bigger, badder dinosaur being thrown into the movie? I never got to see this film in 2001 when it was released, so I always wondered what the reactions of the fans
were. Were a lot of people in the theater mad about the outcome of the Spinosaurus/T-Rex fight?

shareI don't think most people realized it wasn't the T-Rex in the logo at first. I didn't see it, until someone pointed it out.
The images in logos are often compressed to create something new. Obviously, that wasn't the case here.
what i DON'T like now is how the new DVD and Blu Ray cover for JPIII changed it back to the T-rex logo! WTF?!?!

Don't think the logo bugged too many people, but the T-Rex/Spinosaurus attack left a lot of people feeling bitter.

T-Rex and Spinosaurus didn't even live in the same time period, so the fight was pure speculation. Besides, even though the Spinosaurus won, the bite from the T-Rex would have caused a massive bacteria infection that bordered on venomous, killing the Spinosaurus in a matter of days if not hours.

As for the logo, at first I thought they went with it trying too hard to be different, when the film's legacy has been helped being a fresh take on familiarity.

I don't mind it, but the T.rex is the icon/mascot for the franchise, so it should be the face all the time.

At first, I thought it couldn't be the official logo and title. As there were many fan-made logos around. I don't remember what I thought of it back then, but now I appreciate it because they tried something different with the logo as well as the title.
