Which dinosaur ate the boat crew?
Did some get out of the aviary?
It's not explained at all.
I have always assumed those flying ones killed them

We hear a splashing sound before the boat enters the fog. I presume it was the Spinosaurus. *internet search* Ah this is interesting:

Rosenberg's draft involved teenagers becoming marooned on Isla Sorna,[5][14] and it included a sequence involving the aquatic reptile Kronosaurus, which was not featured in the final film."
Maybe there was a scene planned with the Kronosaur but that evolved later into the Mosasaur in Jurassic World.
