I know this is an old movie., I have seen a lot of Johnny Depp movies and don't think he has good chemistry with any of his female leads, however I though there was some with he and Christina.
Maybe it's just that Johnny looked so handsome in "Sleepy Hollow" and Christina was so beautiful especially in that white gown
Someone once said Johnny has no chemistry with anyone except for Tim Burton LOL
There was some chemistry. When he comes to from his sixty-third faint, and sits bolt upright into her arms, and she says "Tell me what you dreamt about," that was a very tender moment. And when he says goodbye to her when she's unconscious/supposedly dead, he was about as passionate as that character gets.
shareI think in this film Crane is so straight laced that he is beyond showing passion but I do agree there wasn't much chemistry. I do think that Ricci might be just as left of centre as Depp though which may explain why there was a little in this film.
shareI also didn't detect a great deal of chemistry and I suspect that the age difference is the main reason that no real romance was built into the plot.
However, I will say that Ricci never looked more beautiful than she did in Sleepy Hollow, and her character was also great, so it seems like any man would have desired her. Truly this was her physical peak.
She was much more beautiful when she had some softness and meat on her bones. Since losing weight she is just another underweight actress. There was something special about her especially in this film in the old dresses and hair styles.

I used to be a big fan. But personality-wise she kind of turned me off and she also is rarely in any movies anymore that I have any interest in. In fact, I'd say my fandom existed almost entirely because of this film, as well as growing up watching her as Wednesday Addams. While there have been other projects since then that I liked fairly well--the Pan Am TV show comes to mind--her career since Sleepy Hollow has been mostly disappointing.
I never saw many interviews with her but she does have that quirky/weird type image, at least that is what I always picked up on. With the exception of this film her roles were all a little weird too. Since losing weight she has tried to go more mainstream (Pan Am, Ally McBeal etc) but I don't think it suits her.
I just looked at her work since Sleepy Hollow and I agree not much of interest really.
Since Sleepy Hollow here's what I've seen:
Pumpkin - Literally remember nothing about it
Anything Else - Not bad but also nothing that I would go out of my way to watch again
Monster - Good film, but also not one I have any interest in rewatching
Cursed - Decent Wes Craven werewolf flick
Black Snake Moan - Interesting movie; I don't love it, but it's definitely one of her more notable projects
Speed Racer - I like it and think it's overall an underrated movie; my favorite thing she's done since Sleepy Hollow
Pan Am - I liked what I saw of it, but that was only the first few episodes
Lizzie Borden Took an Ax - I liked it well-enough; for a Lifetime movie it exceeded expectations
Z: The Beginning of Everything - I watched one episode, lost interest, and never went back to it; it has since been cancelled
Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story - It was okay; nothing to write home about and kind of slow, but I also didn't regret invested the time into watching it
She's done plenty during this time period where I didn't even bother to watch them because I had no interest. And as you can see, of the things I did watch, I can't muster a ton of enthusiasm for any of them. It's mostly movies that I liked "well enough" and watched them once and will almost certainly never watch them again, except for Speed Racer.
Asides from Sleepy Hollow itself, I saw Monster which was ok but I didn't like how we were supposed to feel bad for Wournos. No interest to re-watch it.
Just looked up Speed Racer she looks cute in it but not sure if I would see it.
Pan Am I liked along with another show that started the same time about the Playboy Club which was also axed very quickly.
I'd watch Lizzy Borden although I would probably watch that with anyone in it.
Z Beginning of Everything, never heard of it but sounded interesting. Might look it up.
Yeah she gets consistent work but nothing amazing. As shallow as it is I blame her extreme weight loss. She looks like a "lollipop" head too big for her body at times. Looks cold as well. I do wonder if remaining a little curvier would have helped her career.
