I don't understand the meaning of the tape.
I don't understand the gunmen were across the crowd earlier in the movie. The crowd was unarmed. Now why is it that later the tape shows the crowd having guns.

Notice that Childers looks down at the mob and then takes a second look as if in shock - It's because the crowd was armed -
