Officers wearing do rags?
I thought that was funny seeing samuel l jackson wearing one, being an officer & all.
shareI had the same question. Why are the 2 officers in soft covers when most of the Marines are in helmets? There are a few others in the soft covers (like Hodges's RTO). Sometimes RTOs did wear soft hats in order to accommodate a headset (as in WW2). However, in this case, he is not wearing a headset.
Perhaps Hodges and Childers are part of Force Recon and are attached to a conventional Marine unit to guide them onto an objective - hence the different headdress?
I'm surprised given the involvement of two respected Marine VN vets like Dale Dye and James Webb that there'd be any mistakes in dress at all.
