Why is it so dark?
Maybe because darkness covers imperfections? But I'd much prefer to have a bit of light in the movie.

Its dark because, well, its a Philip K Dick story - and they're all pretty dark
shareI loved it for being dark, and it made a pleasant (lol!) change from the more conventional Hollywood happy ending ala Minority Report.
I'll never forgive them for what they did to The Vanishing, but that's another story...
Nowhere NEAR as dark as the original release of Alien v. Predator. I couldn't
tell the different species APART in that one. How ironic that we can't tell
which 'Spencer' is HERE. When it comes to darkness as metaphor, I prefer that.
Made in America...
by illegal aliens.
I have no idea... In many scenes it was too dark to even see anything.
Maybe Robert Elswit (the director of photography) wanted to spare the public from seeing this cinematic atrocity.
well maybe you just saw a bad copy? cause i just watched it and i don't see literally too dark spots.
as for metaphoric meaning, it was kinda perfectly introduced, so no moaning, kay?
Nah, I watched this with dreindorf; it turns out my TV's brightness was set too low. (This ruined Blade Runner too.)
shareHad to set the gamma on my LCD to sRGB to make it watchable
