I was an extra in this movie.

Yeah, I know, Big deal, but I thought I'd share. It was in Phoenix, AZ back in 1999 at the Arizona Science Center. I was one of the ESA troopers. It was funny, because before I even saw the costumes, another extra told me "yeah, they're the Starship Trooper outfits." I thought he was joking until we actually got the costumes. They even had the same old boxes that they came in. They said things like "Men's shirts: Bug Planet." One of the extras commented to the costume guy, that these looked like the ST outfits. Costume guy played dumb and said "Oh yeah? Well don't think of them that way."

It was a two night shoot, consisting of running up and down steps, and back and forth across the science center. They told us not to talk to Gary Sinise unless it was during down time. They only time I saw him was really far away during filming, and another time when he was walking back to his trailer. I actually got to stand next to Vincent D'nofrio during filming, and he seemed like a really nice guy. Gary Fleder, on the other hand, came off as a jerk. He carried himself around like he was the emperor of Rome. He walked through a huge crowd of us extras, and didn't make eye contact with any of us.

So that was the gist of it. Thanks for reading.

More people that work on films should post on IMDB about them, friggin hilarious. I have to agree with greenstone, this movie is somewhat entertaining, but pretty much crap.

Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I actually worked on this horrible film as well. I did all the visual effects of the scanning device used to track Gary through the old Ambassador Hotel. I kept the scanner device prop and now use it as a coffee tray. This is a movie that was never meant to be. They were pretty much making it up as we were working on it and none of us had any illusions about it being anything remarkable. In fact, I have never even bothered to watch the final product as I'm still waiting for it to come out on basic cable.

I didn't know about them reusing the Starship Troopers uniforms though. That's pretty funny. Now THAT was a good movie.

I actually watched it today via cable... It wasn't that horrible. In fact, it wasn't horrible at all.
