the soldiers, the news on tv....

Are you sure you're not thinking of Total Recall?

reply

sorta reminds me of both actually

reply

I just was watching the film and i think they ripped off the same type of future that starship troopers has. Thats what i think and is my opinon. During the movie i thought it was starship troopers 2 because i never saw it but then looked at the guide and it said imposter. Through the whole movie i was waiting for a bug to kill someone, lol.

Um, Starship Troopers was written by Robert Heinlein, not Phil Dick.

reply

oh, well thank you. that's what i get for listening to my froend and not looking it up myself.

reply

But the movie was nothing like the book

reply

"Imposter" wasn't a book, it was a short story.

Have you by any chance stopped by the trivia section pertaining to this movie?

reply

well the soldiers helmets were taken straight from starship troopers.
Im sure it saved them a few pounds ;)

reply

There are also shots taken directly form Starship Troopers and Armageddon

reply

yeah, in the prologue they show some footage from a city that have been destroyed - which is actually the footage from the destruction of buenos saires from starship troopers

reply

For a great movie, it kills me everytime I see those Starship Trooper shots. It's not copyright infringment if the shots on screen for less than 3 seconds is it?

not sure what you mean by on stetic.... I thought the visual look of the city was quite a bit like Starship Troopers but it didn't have anything whatsoever like the satiric tone that "Trooopers" had towards the future. I think "Troopers" is a better movie actually, but I enjoyed "Impostor" more than I thought I would considering it disappeared from the theaters in about 5 seconds.

p.s. reading through the thread I see that apparently the film reused visual elements from "Troopers." Very intersting, I actually suspected that when I was watching it. Well, you know, "Blade Runner" used shots that were made for "The Shining" so maybe it's fitting!

Did I not love him, Cooch? MY OWN FLESH I DIDN'T LOVE BETTER!!! But he had to say 'Nooooooooo'

lol during the prologue the defnetly used starship troopers footage...and the soldiers during the movie look just exactly as the space marines from ST. dont know why but i didnt mind cause i have only good memories of that movie
