I remember vaguely that the trailer for this movie was shown about 2 years prior to the actual year it was released. Does anyone know about this?

I believe it was originally filmed in 1998 but some scenes reshot later.
There was an article in Empire about the movie that mentioned it.

The release date was delayed when another movie stole this movie's release spot. It was delayed from December of one year to January of the next year. You would know this if you actually click on Trivia.
