talk between jude law and the woman

when she tries to make him go away she says something "please just git" I never heard of "git" I looked on it on logman dictionary and it says "an offensive word for an unpleasant and annoying person, especially a man:"
why is she saying something like this?

reply

That definition is true but what she's telling Inman is to just "git". Like to "get along out of here" in her southern accent.

Where are you from? "Git" is a slang or regional pronunciation of "get" in American English. "Git!" means "Go!" being short for "Get going" or "Get out of here."

Please put some dashes above your sig line so I won't think it's part of your dumb post.

Haha! 'Git' is actually 'Get', they've just spelled it the way it's pronounced in that part of America. She means 'please, just get going!'

'Git' is actually an insult used in the UK (it's a bit old fashioned now, and not considered a particularly serious insult).
